Anticipation

as I grip

the coffee mug

listening to

the slow drip

of liquid hitting

the glass pot

inhaling the aroma

awaiting the taste

of the hot

flowing coffee

on my tongue. 

Black and White

The temperature 

continues to drop

a chill rising

as I sit

here writing

smelling bread baking,

calming me

as Joan Crawford 

sings on the television,

I watch her dance

twirling in song

with my colors

painting the page, 

I wonder 

if only we

could go back

to black and white. 

Exhaustion

There comes a time
when the mind
is completely exhausted,

life bleeding out
to the point
where writing to ease

ceases to exist;

the mind succumbing

to the nothing
it was forced into,

slithering away
into a chaos

it can not comprehend
for it is too exhausted

to even acknowledge life.

Blazing Sun

Give me the strength
of a blazing sun,
give me the light
of a full white moon,
guiding me without sight
so that my feet
my continue to run,
through the wilds
answering the beckoning call
that will carry
through the night
into the dawn
of the first morning light,
where the fears
have faded into the dark
with drying tears
that hold the worlds apart
while reaching for the sun
becoming completely undone
so my feet can again run.

Domino (Revised)

I was never satisfied with the original Domino. It was lacking the emotion and words needed to be complete. I feel that this version speaks the true vertigo of this game Domino


She fades
into a sigh,
the past
a haunting task
a future drowning
into emotions spinning,
a world a blur
turning upside down
in a moment of vertigo;
nausea growing
in this game
of domino,
The pieces
standing tall
waiting for her to fall
collapsing in defeat,
her end to meet
shattering in dreams
that undress the night
turning into balls of light
as the sun rises
with a golden crown
emotions spinning
off the growd
letting go
into a spiral
of vertigo,
she antiscipates
the next move
asking if he will wait
or go
always in this game
of domino,
the pieces standing
so erect
waiting for him
to select
with a lingering question
continuing to ask
in this tedious game
of hidden mask,
will he wait
into the dawn of tomorrow
or the night of yesterday
will he move
for the pieces to fall
letting go
in this game of domino.

Hot Cold

Eyes close

as light flashes

hot; cold

hot; cold

emotions running,

constantly over taking 

the rhyme 

the reason

of believing,

consuming the day 

of an endless dream

soaking in sweat;

hot; cold

hot; cold

the night bleeds

into tears

nearing the void.

fearful of demise

the eyes

must open

as night embarks

through visions told

to cease 

the emotions 

of insanity.  

Skin to Bone (revised)

Skin to bone

peeling back 

the unknown,

frail fragments

falling into black

dissolving into dust

for a life 

that must.

peel the burn away

of the diseased rash,

shredding the decay

of blacken ash,

to renew within

the newborn skin.
