Pages to Burn

 PLEASE MOVE TO THE NEXT PAGE  AS THIS LINK IS BEING CHANGED AND/OR REMOVED.

I revised this poem in haste as I didn't leave the original poem to be compared to the new revision. Also now that I re-read this version I do not believe it fits. I am not sure what I was thinking I believe this was to be a new poem that I thought was part of pages to burn. However, this does not work for Pages To Burn as it is a poem all on it's own. Yes, I never felt like it was completed but not to the point of of changing the entire poem. I do beg you to move to the next poem until I can put the original back up. Also for any revision the original will remain on this blog unless otherwise stated.
Thank you for visiting my blog and for  the interest in this poem or if it was a favorite. I apologize for the haste in my thoughts and fingers.

I DO REALIZE IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 YEARS SINCE MY HASTE OF REVISION BUT PLEASE BARE WITH ME FOR THE NEW CONSTRUCTION OF THIS SITE AND THE CHANGES NEEDING TO BE MADE. THANK YOU!

You are a lesson
I must learn
written on the pages
of a book
that must burn,
standing still
you unveil me;
stripped and naked
you wash away the dirt
bringing me back to earth.

In the night
you silence my cry
holding me, whispering;
in the day
you beckon for me
to follow, to come
pushing me in the water
I no longer feel numb.

You are a lesson
I must learn
written on the pages
of a book
that must burn,
laying down
you spread the ashes
cleansing me
from my curse
as you bring me
back to earth.
